Megan Filoramo is an advanced practice nurse with more than 20 years of experience specializing in pain management. She works with patients experiencing both acute and chronic pain, with a focus on improving function, managing symptoms, and helping patients work toward meaningful goals in their everyday lives.
A Whole-Person Perspective
With advanced training in pain management and integrative health and wellness coaching, Megan approaches care from a whole-person perspective. She recognizes that persistent pain can affect many aspects of a patient’s life and works to develop individualized treatment strategies that consider physical health, daily function, lifestyle, and overall well-being.
Education and Credentials
Megan earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Rutgers University and graduated magna cum laude with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Seton Hall University. She holds credentials as an Advanced Practice Pain Management Nurse and is board certified as an Integrative Health and Wellness Nurse Coach.
Professional Leadership
In addition to her clinical work, Megan is actively involved in pain management education and professional leadership. She has presented on pain management at national conferences and serves as Pharmacology Master Faculty for the American Society for Pain Management Nursing (ASPMN). She also serves on the ASPMN Board and as Secretary of the Executive Board for the American Chronic Pain Association.
Multidisciplinary Care
At Fortera Health, Megan brings her extensive pain management experience to a multidisciplinary setting, working alongside physicians, rehabilitation professionals, and other members of the care team to help patients navigate pain with a coordinated and individualized approach.
